After being "head hunted" by the major league companys Rank and First leisure, he was soon travelling across the UK. All of his spare time was spent in Ibiza where he made several good contacts and friends, Ghema manager of Ghorms garage, Haveya owner of mambos, pepe owner of space, pepe owner of es paradis terrenal.In 1990 through his contacts he became resident at Ghorms garage and played to the west end crowd. At the end of the season he returned to Birmingham to launch the Ritzy, then to Manchester Royals and Coco savannas and back to Birmingham at the Dome.Kris received a call to return to Ibiza from Haveya and played weekly sets at Mambos, es paradis, club joker, and all the private parties !!! he soon became one of the main jocks on the island and returned for several seasons.1996 he returned to the UK and was signed up Universal DJ agency, who gave him a new name (kris Anthem) and put him on there most wanted list of DJ's.He was soon playing regular sets in Liverpool at Club 1, Bowlers, the 051 club and became a resident at " Love to be " with Tony walker . On Sunday mornings you find him playing at the after parites in Tin Tins, then on to the Westend bar and finally at the Square.1998 Kris was once again "head hunted" this time by Allied Domeque , who had acquired a new site in Cardiff that was originally built for the Ministry of Sound. October 13 evolution was launched with Kris as the resident and promotions manager. After five months of hard work, Kris and the team had managed to establish the unit as South Wales biggest dance venue. The Saturday night has become
a legend in its own right, with the night being completly booked out
and drawing people from all over the UK to witness his five hour sets.
Guest DJ's have included: Alister Whitehead, Dan Bailey, Alex Gold,
Smokin Joe, Lisa Lashes, Guy Ornadel, Alex P, Lisa Loud, Jon the Dentist,
John 00 Fleaming, Fregie , plus many more... The night is mentioned
by both Pete Tong and Judge Jules on Radio 1 on a regular basis an gets
coverage in leading club magazines.The wednesday student night is also
the strongest in the area with average admissions around 1500 out of
term and 2000 plus in term. Kris is also the resident on this night
and co-ordinates all the student activities.After twenty years in the
industry Kris has gained a lot experience working both in front and
behind the scene. From his early days of standing on top of the turntables
leading the crowds with all the party tunes, to playing to over 10,000
people in worlds dance capital Ibiza.He also has a great knowledge of
the runnig of units. with both Rank and First Leisure he was involved
with planning and implementation of both new nights and Special events,
from decorating clubs to organizing promo teams and signing sponsership
deals. Five brand new units have been launched with Kris at the controls,
Paradox in liverpool, The Palace Blackpool, Central Park Birmingham,
evolution Cardiff, Club Joker Ibiza During 1995 he also had his own
dance show on Red Dragon FM with RAGAR figures of over 20,000 listeners
per show before he went to Ibiza.He has recived Nominations for BEDA
DJ on three seperate ocasions, Ministry magazine quoted him as the most
under rated DJ in the UK, he has appeared in numerous publications and
TV shows. He is curently rated 198 out of 12,000 Dj's world wide. |
